CARROLL COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANTS

Nonprofit organizations awarded $31,800 in 2019

December 11, 2019 -- The Carroll County Community Foundation has awarded $31,800 in competitive grants to Carroll County nonprofit organizations in 2019. The grants are awarded in six areas of interest: arts and culture, human services, civic affairs, health, education and community beautification.

“These grants are made from our unrestricted community endowment funds,” said Dr. Paul Manning, chairman of the Carroll County Community Foundation Services Committee. “For a limited time, we are in a match period that will increase our grantmaking capabilities by building our endowment assets.  For every $1 given to our community endowment unrestricted funds, Lilly Endowment Inc. will provide a $2 match. What a great opportunity to have your giving increased and support the services and programs provided by nonprofits that are so important to our community.”

The following agencies and programs were awarded grants from community endowment unrestricted funds:

$6,500 to the Carroll County Community Center will be used to purchase fitness equipment to increase equipment availability for members.

$2,900 to the Carroll County Wabash and Erie Canal will be used to complete the renovation of a round log building in Canal Park.

$2,000 to the Community Youth Center provides support for teen activities.

$6,900 to the Delphi Preservation Society provides funding to repaint the Delphi Opera House façade, including painting the cornices, corbels and window frames.

$5,000 to the L & A Park Foundation provides funding to drill a well and install a pump and supply line to the utility/bathroom building on the property.

$1,500 to Promoting Wildcat Valley will be used for the restoration of the American House Stagecoach Hotel Museum. This includes the removal and restoration of the hotel’s back porch.

$5,000 to the Town of Burlington for the Burlington Community Park Board provides funding to update the Community Building’s warming and serving kitchens.
