Grant Writing Assistance Program

  1. Grant Writing Assistance Application Process
The nonprofit organization will complete an online form for the Community Foundation of Howard County that includes the following:

    a. The name of the agency requesting grant writing assistance.
    b. The name of the organization offering the grant opportunity and a website address where information on the grant can be found.
    c. The amount of the Grant.
    d.  The project for which the funds will be used.
    e.  The project’s potential impact on the community.
    f.  Whether or not the grant has a match component.
    g.  When the grant is due.

  2. The Community Foundation team will review the grant writing assistance requests as they come in.

  3. The Community Foundation team will present the request to Littleberry Press for a feasibility assessment.

  4. The Community Foundation will notify the nonprofit and Littleberry Press that the request for assistance has or has not been approved. If approved, the nonprofit will then work directly with Littleberry Press to prepare and submit the grant proposal. It is the responsibility of the nonprofit to have the items on the attached Grant Readiness Checklist in hand before they call Littleberry Press to begin work on the grant.

  5. The nonprofit will notify the Community Foundation as to whether they received the grant or not.

  6. Six months after receiving the grant funding, the nonprofit will provide a report to the Community Foundation on the results of the grant and a critique of how the grant writing assistance process worked for the nonprofit.

Questions on the Grant Writing Assistance Program should be directed to Carrie Giannakos, Community Leadership Coordinator, at carrie@cfhoward.org or (765) 454-7298.
