CARROLL COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANTS
Nonprofit organizations awarded $14,397 in 2017
The Carroll County Community Foundation has awarded $14,397 in competitive grants to Carroll County nonprofit organizations in 2017. The grants are awarded in six areas of interest: arts and culture, human services, civic affairs, health, education and community beautification.
“Donor generosity has allowed the Carroll County Community Foundation to support these worthwhile projects in Carroll County,” said Dr. Greg Norman, chairman of the Carroll County Community Foundation Services Committee. “Through their contributions to our community endowment unrestricted funds, donors have entrusted us to award grants to nonprofit organizations that will benefit the community now and in the future. This foresight has established their legacy in Carroll County and we thank them for their lasting charitable gifts.”
The following agencies and programs were awarded grants:
$1,622 to the Camden-Jackson Public Library will be used to update computers to have the capability to receive remote technical assistance. The grant will also be used to update the library's furniture to accommodate technological needs in the library, make better use of space and provide additional computer access points.
$600 to the Carroll County Community Center will be used to replace folding chairs, basketballs, volleyballs, workout room ab mats and kettle bells. The Carroll County Community Center currently serves more than 650 members and more than 1,300 program participants annually.
$3,675 to the Delphi Opera House will be used to purchase and install a Master IP Video Control Station and an IP Video Entrance Station on the front and rear doors of the Opera House. The system will enable staff on the second floor to allow entry into the building for deliveries and other appointments and provide additional security and safety.
$1,100 to the Flora-Monroe Public Library will be used to purchase a laptop, camera, tripod, microphone and editing software in order to create and film segments and programs that would be of interest to the community. This will include story times, local history segments, "how-to" segments and book reviews.
$3,000 to the Food Finders Food Bank will support the mobile food pantry in Carroll County.
$2,400 to Promoting Wildcat Valley supports the "American House Stagecoach Hotel Museum" project. Grant money will be used to purchase attic insulation and a storm window for the museum.

$1,000 to the Delphi Preservation Society
$700 to the Carroll County Council on Aging
$300 to Adams Mill
The Carroll County Community Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organization governed by a volunteer board of local citizens.
