2012 CLINTON COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED
Clinton County Community Foundation awards more than $366,700 in scholarships for 2012-13 school year
June 15, 2012 -- The Clinton County Community Foundation has awarded 61 scholarships from 14 funds to Clinton County students with an approximate value of $366,700, including the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship. The students were recognized at a Scholarship Reception held on June 14 at Hawthorn Hall & Gardens, Frankfort, Ind. In addition to the scholarship recipients, parents, donors, educators, community volunteers and leaders attended the event in recognition of the efforts of the students.
"A lot of students are out working, volunteering and contributing in our communities," said John Shoup, chairman of the Clinton County Community Foundation Services Committee. "Thanks to our donors, it is gratifying to be able to support our recipients' achievements by helping with the expense of college. These scholarships provide encouragement and motivation to students to pursue higher education."
The students and the scholarships they were awarded are listed below:
A. J. Archibald Memorial Scholarship
Ross McWhirt, son of John and Shelly McWhirt, is a Clinton Central High School graduate who plans to attend Purdue University to study agricultural engineering.
Robert L. Brinson Scholarship
Armenda 'Mindy' Boyer, daughter of Tom and Carrie Boyer, is a Clinton Central High School graduate who will study agriculture communication and French.
Clinton Central High School Vision Scholarship
Taylor Crenshaw, daughter of Bruce and Tonya Crenshaw, plans to attend Purdue University to study English and Spanish.
Rhett Miller, son of Doug and Deborah Miller, plans to attend Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis to study earth sciences.
Samantha Reynolds, daughter of Corrie and Sandy Reynolds, will major in English and journalism at Manchester College.
Kelsey Robinson, daughter of John and Stacey Robinson, will attend Indiana University Kokomo to study physical therapy.
Kendra Stockberger, daughter of Bryon and Annette Stockberger, will be attending Ball State University to study psychology.
Clarence Cochran Agricultural Scholarship
Kyle Horlacher, son of Thomas and Dawn Horlacher, is a graduate of Clinton Prairie High School. He plans to attend Purdue University to study farm management.
Anna Fudge Field and Mary S. Field Endowment Scholarship
Hannah Coons, daughter of John and Debbie Coons, is a graduate of Clinton Prairie High School. She will attend Indiana University to study healthcare administration.
Louise and Robert A. Hedgcock History Essay Scholarship
Hannah Pierce, daughter of Ty and Jayne Pierce, is a Frankfort High School graduate who will be attending Purdue University to major in public relations.
Branon Renick, son of Gary and Kellie Renick, is a Frankfort High School graduate who will be attending Purdue University to major in business management.
Michigantown High School Alumni Association Scholarship
Taylor Crenshaw, daughter of Bruce and Tonya Crenshaw, is a Clinton Central High School graduate. She plans to attend Purdue University to study English and Spanish.
Kendra Stockberger, daughter of Byron and Annette Stockberger, is a Clinton Central High School graduate. She plays to attend Ball State University to study psychology.
William and Doris Mohr Scholarship
This is a four-year renewable scholarship.
Clinton Central High School
Taylor Crenshaw, daughter of Bruce and Tonya Crenshaw, plans to attend Purdue University to study English and Spanish.
Kendra Stockberger, daughter of Byron and Annette Stockberger, plans to attend Ball State University to study psychology.
Receiving renewal scholarships are: Tanner Deisch, Chad Kingsolver, Kayla Mosson, Tyler Ottinger, Rachel Robertson and Aaron Rogers.
Clinton Prairie High School
Hannah Coons is the daughter of John and Debbie Coons. She will attend Indiana University to study healthcare administration.
Carrie Funk is the daughter of Mark and Faye Funk. Carrie will be attending Ball State University to study nursing.
Receiving renewal scholarships are: Christina Bailey, Sara Huskins, Brianne Little, Erin Overman and Adam Schrock.
Frankfort High School
Hadley Catron is the daughter of Joseph and Jean Catron. She will be attending Indiana University to study marketing and graphic design.
Michael Harris, son of Shane and Kriss Harris, has chosen to study telecommunications at Ball State University.
Branon Renick, son of Gary and Kellie Renick, will be attending Purdue University to major in business management.
Sara Ross is the daughter of Andrew and Janet Ross. She will be attending Purdue University to study management and marketing.
Receiving renewal scholarships are: Kara Byrd, Madison Donoho, Bernadette Frey, Meredith Gant, Brittany Harmon, Haley Jaworski, Zachary Nichols, Josue Ordaz, Kyleigh Renick, Andrew Sharp and Chadwick Strong.
Rossville High School
Chelsea Sandifur, daughter of Anthony and Pauline Sandifur, will attend Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis to major in philanthropic studies.
Kaitlyn Tappenden, daughter of Wanda Tappenden and Richard Tappenden, will study neuroscience at Purdue University in the fall.
Receiving renewal scholarships are: Alissa Clawson, Daniel Gascho, Brittany Heffernan, Kelsey Miller, Robert Hawkins and Tylyn Tull.
Wilbur T. Rule Team Player Scholarship
Lee Camden is a Clinton Central High School graduate. Lee's parents are Randy and Rita Camden.

Greg A. Scofield Scholarship
Kendra Stockberger, daughter of Byron and Annette Stockberger, is a Clinton Central High School graduate. She plans to attend Ball State University to study psychology.
Barbara K. Siegfried Scholarship

Lindsay Davis, daughter of Eric and Gayla Davis, is a Clinton Central High School graduate. She will study sociology and Spanish.
Phyllis M. Widener Music Scholarship
Chloe McLaughlin, daughter of Kenneth and Rhonda McLaughlin, is a Frankfort High School graduate. She plans to attend Indiana Wesleyan University to study music ministry.
Receiving renewal scholarships are: Abigail Barnett and Andrew Rohrabaugh.
J. Allen Wyrick Memorial Scholarship

Kaitlyn Jameson, daughter of Thomas and Cynthia Jameson, is a graduate of Frankfort High School. Kaitlyn will study professional writing at Taylor University this fall.
Chloe McLaughlin, daughter of Kenneth and Rhonda McLaughlin, is a graduate of Frankfort High School. Chloe will be attending Indiana Wesleyan University, where she will be studying music ministry.
Kaylen White, daughter of Daniel and Dayna White, is a graduate of Clinton Prairie High School. She will attend University of Southern Indiana to study in the dental nurse program.
Receiving renewal scholarships are: David Adams, Brianne Little, Amanda Loveless and Chadwick Strong.
Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship
Chaz Evans, son of Chad Evans and stepson of Leslie Evans, is a Clinton Central High School graduate. Chaz plans to attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to study software engineering.
