2016 CLINTON COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

Clinton County Community Foundation awards more than $263,600 in scholarships for 2016-17 school year

June 9, 2016 -- The Clinton County Community Foundation has awarded 62 scholarships and renewals from 17 funds to Clinton County students with an approximate value of $263,600, including the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship. The students were recognized at a Scholarship Reception held on June 2 at Arborwood in Frankfort, Ind.  Parents, donors, educators, community volunteers and leaders also attended the event in recognition of the efforts of the students. 

“Our donors have made a commitment to improving the quality of life for these students through their contributions,” said Alan Dunn, chairman of the Clinton County Community Foundation Services Committee.  “This support strengthens the community as educational attainment is increased.  We are fortunate to have so many caring donors who look to the future.”

The students and the scholarships they were awarded are listed below:

A. J. Archibald Memorial Scholarship

Colten Mennen is the son of Matthew and Rita Mennen and a Clinton Central High School graduate.  He plans to attend Purdue University to become a wildlife biologist.

Bailey Trucking Company Scholarship

Bradley Lohsl is a 2013 graduate of Indiana University and will be pursuing a law degree.

Robert Brinson Scholarship

Whitney Ridenour, daughter of Bryan and Michelle Ridenour, is a Clinton Central High School graduate.  She will study wildlife biology at Purdue University.

Jenny Butler Scholarship

Ashley Ferrel is the daughter of Jon and Naomi Ferrell and a Clinton Central High School graduate. Ashley will attend the Saint Elizabeth School of Nursing/Saint Joseph's College.

Clinton Central High School Vision Scholarship

Avree Barrett is the daughter of Blaine and Lorenna Barrett.  She will attend Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis to study dental hygiene.

Lauren McDaniel is the daughter of Delores McDaniel and Matthew McDaniel.  She will attend Purdue University to study psychology.

Haley Niemann is the daughter of Samuel and Evelyn Niemann.  She will attend Butler University to study education.

Clarence Cochran Agricultural Scholarship

Mackenzie Padgett is the daughter of Lance and Juanita Padgett and a Clinton Central High School graduate. She plans to attend Lincoln Land Community College to earn a degree in science.  Mackenzie plans to transfer to Kansas State University to study agriculture economics.

Austin Perlee is the son of Ryan and Shelley Perlee and a Clinton Central High School graduate.  He will attend Ball State University to study business.

Anna Fudge Field and Mary S. Field Endowment Scholarship

Miranda Robertson is the daughter of Bennie and Donna Robertson and from Clinton Prairie High School. She plans to attend Indiana University to study psychology.

Louise and Robert A. Hedgcock History Essay Scholarship – Frankfort High School

Judith Perez Castro is the daughter of José Perez and Maria Castro.  She will attend Wingate University to study cyber security/criminal justice.

Alex Rockhold is the son of John and Amy Rockhold. He will attend Purdue University to study engineering.

Isabel Ward is the daughter of Brenda Ward and Kevin Ward. She will attend Purdue University to study athletic training.

Michigantown High School Alumni Association Scholarship

Molly Newell is the daughter of Todd and Janice Newell.  She is a Clinton Central High School graduate and plans to attend Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne to study education.

William and Doris Mohr Scholarship
This is a four-year renewable scholarship. 

Clinton Central High School

Katie Crawford is the daughter of John and Amy Jo Crawford. She will be attending Ball State University to study nutrition and fitness.

Bailey Suhre is the daughter of Carolyn Suhre and the late Roger Suhre. She will be attending Ball State University to study business.

Receiving renewal scholarships are: Ryan Ferguson, Logan Flack, Courtney Fox, Sarah Jacoby, Leilah Miller and Matthew Rogers.

Clinton Prairie High School

Jaden Cornell is the son of Phillip and Ann Cornell. He will be attending Purdue University to study actuarial science.

Mallorie Humrickhouse is the daughter of Jay and Elaina Humrickhouse. She will be attending Purdue University to study actuarial science.

Receiving renewal scholarships are: Lucy Coons, Noah Freestone, Stephanie Schrock, Dylan Stambaugh, Mason Thomas and James Woods.

Frankfort High School

Ana Garcia is the daughter of Jaime and Leticia Garcia. She will be attending Indiana University Kokomo to study nursing.

David Miller is the son of Raymond and Teresa Miller. He will be attending Purdue University to study actuarial science.

Alex Rockhold is the son of John and Amy Rockhold and he plans to become an electrical engineer.

Isabel Ward is the daughter of Brenda Ward and Kevin Ward and she plans to become an occupational therapist.

Receiving renewal scholarships are: Sofia Byrd, Taylor Dillingham, Allison Emswiller, Erick Figueroa, William Fischer, Maricruz Garcia, Ivan Pozos, Anthony Redington and Zachary Tatum.

Rossville High School

Jessie Blackwell is the daughter of Ronald and Jill Blackwell. She will be attending Purdue University to study medical laboratory science.

Lauren Bright is the daughter of Brendon and Carrie Bright. She will attend Purdue University to study pre-medicine.

Receiving renewal scholarships are:  Emma Brown, Zane Gottschalk, Michaela Heffernan, Bethany McIlrath, Kelly Ruff and Holly Ware.

Mulberry High School Alumni Association Scholarship

Kelsey Dunham is the daughter of Deborah Dunham.  Kelsey attends Purdue University and is studying elementary education.

Kenton Little is the son of Tina Little.  Kenton attends Ball State University and is studying telecommunications.

Wilbur T. Rule Team Player Scholarship

Haley Niemann, daughter of Samuel and Evelyn Niemann, is a Clinton Central High School graduate. She will be attending Butler University.

Randall Weaver, son of Randy and Lisa Weaver, is a Clinton Central High School graduate. He will be attending Vincennes University.

Greg A. Scofield Scholarship

Katie Crawford, daughter of John and Amy Jo Crawford, is a Clinton Central High School graduate.  She plans to become a registered dietitian.

Barbara K. Siegfried Scholarship

Jeremiah Herin, son of Dwight and Lydia Herin, is a Clinton Central High School graduate. He will attend Purdue University to study engineering.

Strange Family Scholarship

J. Allen Wyrick Memorial Scholarship

Jeremiah Herin, son of Dwight and Lydia Herin, is a Clinton Central High School graduate. He will attend Purdue University to study engineering.

Clinton County Community Foundation Scholars

Jaden Cornell, son of Phillip and Ann Cornell, is from Clinton Prairie High School. With his degree in actuarial science, Jaden plans to enter into politics.

Angelina Koliy, daughter of Luda Koors and Igor Koliy, is from Clinton Prairie High School.  She will attend Purdue University to study English.

David Miller, son of Raymond and Teresa Miller, will be attending Purdue University to study actuarial science.

Receiving renewal scholarships are:  Noah Freestone, Stephen Good, Zane Gottschalk, Annaka Grismer, Logan Harness, Ryon Herin, Dillon Lawrence, Bethany McIlrath, Stephanie Schrock and Rachel Stowers.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship

Javier Aguirre, son of Alvaro and Gloria Aguirre, is a Frankfort High School student. He will attend Purdue University to study pharmacy.
