November 30, 2010 — Rainbow Haven Transitional Housing, COACH Kids and the United Way for Clinton County walked away winners from the Clinton County Community Foundation's 'Legacy Society' lunch held Nov. 18 at Hawthorn Hall & Gardens in Frankfort, Ind. Through a special monetary drawing, Rainbow Haven received $5,000, COACH Kids received $3,000 and the United Way for Clinton County received $2,000 to be placed in each organization's endowed fund at the Foundation. More than 15 nonprofit organizations attended the lunch and were eligible for the drawing if they had five or more board members in attendance.

"The Rainbow Haven staff and board would like to extend our thanks for the opportunity to ensure our legacy through the $5,000 endowment," said Teena Adamson, Executive Director of Rainbow Haven.

The Foundation established the Legacy Society to encourage estate planning to strengthen and provide permanent financial stability for a variety of funds established by donors to support charitable endeavors that benefit the community. Currently, 26 nonprofit organizations are supported by endowed funds that were established through the generosity of donors.

In addition to providing community support through endowed funds, the Community Foundation offers a free will planning guide that is designed to help individuals as they prepare to work with their estate planning advisors. Contact the Clinton County Community Foundation at 800-964-0508 or visit the Web site at www.cfclinton.org for a free copy of the will planning guide. Foundation staff members are also available to work with individuals and advisors to answer any questions about considering a charitable organization as a recipient of a gift in a will.
