CLINTON COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANTS
Non-profit organizations awarded $80,900 during first half of 2018
July 12, 2018 -- The Clinton County Community Foundation has awarded $80,900 in competitive grants during the first half of 2018.
“The donors who give to our community endowment unrestricted funds are giving with the intent to benefit the community now and in the future,” said Alan Dunn, chairman of the Clinton County Community Foundation Services Committee. “Through their philanthropy, they have provided funds that support the programs and services nonprofit agencies offer in the community. We thank the donors and the organizations for helping to meet the diverse needs of this community.”
The following agencies and programs were awarded grants:
$15,000 to the Clinton County Boys and Girls Club provides partial support toward the cost of replacing the HVAC units in both gymnasiums.
$5,000 to Community Schools of Frankfort Education Foundation provided start-up support for the "Hall of Fame.” The initial Hall of Fame class consisted of 15 former alumni, honorees and family members.
$9,000 to Healthy Communities of Clinton County provides partial matching support for the Early Learning Coalition of Clinton County's grant to the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) Office of Early Childhood and Out of School Learning. The goal is to increase Clinton County's ability to provide high quality Level 3 programs on the Paths to Quality state rating system and increase available seats from 0 to 94 high quality seats.
$1,500 to Indiana University Health Frankfort provides partial support for a consumer drug take-back program that will offer a safe and effective means of disposal to help prevent prescription drug diversion and abuse.
$20,000 to On-Stage Foundation for Red Barn Theatre will be used to replace the north and west walls, balcony, and ramp as part of a facility and accessibility project.
$22,400 to Paul Phillippe Resource Center will be used to match a grant through the Indiana Department of Transportation to purchase two vehicles. Last year, Paul Phillippe provided more than 41,485 trips for clients, including the elderly, handicapped, general population and children.
$8,000 to Spaceport Exploration Centre will be used to bring INSpace Camp to youth in Clinton County. The camps are designed to immerse students, ages 8-14 years in areas related to STEM careers through interactive experiences, projects and activities. Grant money will help cover the cost of supplies, marketing expenses and 12 scholarships to cover the registration fees for Clinton County students with ability and financial need.
