COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF HOWARD COUNTY WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

January 31, 2014 —The Community Foundation of Howard County has appointed three new members to its board.  Robert Hickman, Robert Hingst and Christina Lorentson have accepted appointments to the board.

"I look forward to working with our new board members," said Hilda Burns, president of the Community Foundation of Howard County. "Our board members have a deep understanding of the community and their participation will enhance our ability to produce a positive and sustainable change for Howard County citizens."

Hickman is an executive vice president of Community First Bank of Indiana. He currently serves on the Revolving Loan Fund Board and the Economic Development Committee of the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance. His past volunteer activities include Family Service Association, Rotary, Guardian Angels, Bona Vista, Kokomo Downtown Association, Boy Scouts and Leadership Kokomo. 

Hingst is the chief financial officer of Mid America Beverage. His current volunteer activities include Inventrek Technology Park Council, Purdue 400 Club and Boy Scouts of America, Sagamore Council. Hingst also serves on the Foundation's Investment Committee. He has been a past board member of the Community Foundation, United Way of Howard County and Beta Sigma Psi Alumni. 

Lorentson is the president and chief executive officer of Lorentson Manufacturing. Her current memberships and volunteer activities include Manufacturers Association for Plastic Processors, American Mold Builders Association, Indiana Manufacturers Association, National Federation of Independent Business and PEO Chapter DM. Lorentson has been on the board of directors for the Cheer Guild and St. Joseph Foundation. 

Outgoing board members are Dr. Marilyn Skinner, Center for Early Childhood Education, and Mike Stegall, president and chief executive officer of Community First Bank of Indiana.

The Community Foundation of Howard County, Inc. was formed as a not-for-profit public charity in March 1991.
