2019 CARROLL COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

Carroll County Community Foundation awards more than $133,470 in scholarships for 2019-20 school year

June 6, 2019 -- The Carroll County Community Foundation has awarded 20 scholarships and renewals from 14 funds to Carroll County students with an approximate value of more than $133,470, including the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.

“Our donors have a heart for this community and supporting student success,” said Dr. Paul Manning, chairman of the Carroll County Community Foundation Services Committee. “They demonstrate this through their giving. These scholarships help students focus on their studies and alleviate some of their financial concerns. We thank our donors for this foresight and encourage the recipients to continue the tradition of giving.”

The students and the scholarships they were awarded are listed below:

Charles and Alberta Beale Scholarship
Max Schimmel, son of Jay and Callie Schimmel, is a Delphi Community High School graduate. He plans to attend Purdue University and study agriculture.

John and Kathie Connelly Scholarship
Abigail Bieghler, daughter of Scott and Angela Bieghler, is a Delphi Community High School graduate.  She will attend the University of Indianapolis to study chemistry.

Fisher and Associates Accounting Scholarship
Payton Dennison, son of Chad and Jodi Dennison, is a Rossville High School graduate. He plans to attend Ancilla College and study business.

Liberty German Scholarship
Makenzi McClain, daughter of Susan McClain and Shawn McClain, is a Delphi Community High School graduate.  She will study biology at Butler University.

Carolyn S. Gilbert Scholarship
Lauran McClain is a Carroll High School graduate.  She will study occupational therapy at Ball State University.

Indiana Packers Scholarship
Tate Oyler, son of Jason and Jodi Oyler, is a Carroll High School graduate.  He will attend Purdue University and study agriculture.
Max Schimmel, son of Jay and Callie Schimmel, is a Delphi Community High School graduate. He plans to attend Purdue University and study agriculture.

Irving E. Manning Scholarship
Emma Briggs, daughter of Jody and Holly Briggs, is a Carroll High School graduate.  She will attend Indiana University Kokomo and study dental hygiene. Receiving renewal scholarships are Darren Dillon and Jason Wright.

Robert & Joan Maxwell Scholarship
Jonas Brown, son of James and Dorinda Brown, is a Delphi Community High School graduateHe will attend Indiana State University to study unmanned systems.

John McCormick Agricultural Scholarship
Max Schimmel, son of Jay and Callie Schimmel, is a Delphi Community High School graduate. He plans to attend Purdue University and study agriculture.

Mid-North Indiana Executive Committee for Christ Scholarship
Abigail Bieghler, daughter of Scott and Angela Bieghler, is a Delphi Community High School graduate.  She will attend the University of Indianapolis and study chemistry.
Avery Drew, daughter of Gary and Andrea Drew, is a Frankfort High School graduate.  She will attend Indiana University South Bend and study nursing.
Caleb Phillips, son of Larry and Susan Phillips, is a Pioneer High School graduate.  He will study communications at Johnson University.

Lewis and Hazel Mullin Scholarship
Kalena Shidler, daughter of William and Jean Shidler, is a Delphi Community High School graduate. She will attend Purdue University to study social work.

Bill Pearson Scholarship
Max Schimmel, son of Jay and Callie Schimmel, is a Delphi Community High School graduate. He plans to attend Purdue University and study agriculture.

Robeson/Barber Scholarship for Teachers
Mary Beth Piotrowski, daughter of Myles and Mary Jo Piotrowski, is a Carroll High School graduate. She plans to attend Indiana Wesleyan University and study education.

Robert Thornburg Scholarship
Morgan Clark, daughter of Amber Clark and Jason Clark, is a Carroll High School graduate. She will attend Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis to study education.

Abigail Williams Scholarship
Breann Wilber, daughter of Scott Wilber and Karly Fonseca, is a Delphi Community High School graduate.  She will study biology at Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis. 

Carroll County Community Foundation Scholars
Victoria Bagwell, daughter of Kari Dawn Johnson and Lester Bagwell, is a Carroll High School graduate. She will attend Ball State University and study nursing.
Mary Beth Piotrowski, daughter of Myles and Mary Jo Piotrowski, is a Carroll High School graduate. She plans to attend Indiana Wesleyan University and study education.
Kalena Shidler, daughter of William and Jean Shidler, is a Delphi Community High School graduate. She will attend Purdue University to study social work.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholar
Katie Kleckner, daughter of John and Susan Kleckner, is a Delphi Community High School graduate. Katie plans to attend Grace College to study education.
