CELEBRATION EVENT HONORS 'FRIENDS OF CARROLL COUNTY'
Community Foundation of Carroll County supporters benefit the community
August 24, 2012 -- The Carroll County Community Foundation honored 'Friends of Carroll County' members at a dinner on Thursday, Aug. 16 at the Wabash and Erie Canal Interpretive Center in Delphi,Ind. The celebration event was to thank donors for their support of the Foundation.
In his opening comments, Paul Manning, board chair of the Carroll County Community Foundation, welcomed the group and introduced Hilda Burns as the new president of the Foundation. Al Jackson, a former board member, gave a presentation covering the types of endowed funds, ways to give and how donations to the Foundation have a positive impact on the community. He thanked everyone for their current support and encouraged them to talk with other community members about the benefits of giving through the Foundation.
The Friends of Carroll County was established as a way for supporters to provide funds towards operational expenses. Members of the Legacy Society were also honored at the event. This organization recognizes those forward thinking individuals who have remembered a fund within the Foundation in their estate planning.
"The Foundation's mission is to produce a positive and sustainable change in the communities we serve," said Manning. "The financial support provided by the Friends of Carroll County helps pay part of the operating expenses and allows the Foundation to provide more grants to worthwhile charitable causes in Carroll County."
