CARROLL COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION CELEBRATES THE LEGACY OF DONORS

'Friends of Carroll County' look to the future through donations

August 29, 2011 -- Members of the Carroll County Community Foundation’s 'Friends of Carroll County' were able to relax and visit at a celebration event honoring their commitment to create a legacy and provide a permanent benefit to the community. The dinner event was held Thursday, Aug. 25 at the Carroll County Community Center, Flora, Ind.

Supporters of the Friends of Carroll County make annual contributions to help provide funds towards operational expenses. Their donations enable the Community Foundation to continue to provide scholarships to students, support community projects and participate in programs that produce a positive and sustainable change in the community.

"This is a great opportunity to take a moment and thank our donors for believing in us as a way to build a better community," said Paul Manning, chairman of the Carroll County Community Foundation board of directors. "Their support allows us to continue and to expand the Foundation's important work."

Ron Harper, president of the Carroll County Community Foundation, took the opportunity to talk to the donors about how they could create their own legacy by committing resources through estate planning that helps to secure a positive future for Carroll County. The Legacy Society was introduced to Carroll County nonprofit organizations and board members in 2010 as a way for donors to provide ongoing financial support though a fund in the Community Foundation to the charity of their choice.

The Carroll County Community Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organization governed by a volunteer board of local citizens. The purpose of the Foundation is to serve the interests of donors, to make grants and to act as a catalyst around issues of community importance in Carroll County. In addition to providing community support through endowed funds, the Foundation offers such services as a free will planning guide that is designed to help individuals as they prepare to work with their estate planning advisors.
