2011 CLINTON COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

Clinton County Community Foundation awards approximately $255,000 in scholarships for 2011-12 school year

June 14, 2011 —The Clinton County Community Foundation has awarded more than 40 scholarships and 38 renewal scholarships from 17 funds to Clinton County students with an approximate value of $255,000, including the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship. The students were recognized at a Scholarship Reception held on June 9 at Hawthorn Hall & Gardens, Frankfort, Ind. In addition to the scholarship recipients, parents, donors, educators, community volunteers and leaders attended the event in recognition of the efforts of the students.

"These recipients are a good match with the donor expectations of supporting students who have set and met high standards in high school and will continue to strive for excellence in college," said Debbie Graves, chairman of the Clinton County Community Foundation Board of Directors. "The scholastic, community and work effort shown by each student is impressive. We hope these scholarships will help them to concentrate on school and ease the focus on finances."

The students and the scholarships they were awarded are listed below:

A. J. Archibald Memorial Scholarship
The A.J. Archibald Memorial Scholarship was established by Jan and Tom Archibald, parents of A.J. Archibald, a former student at Clinton Central High School. This fund provides scholarships to graduating seniors from Clinton Central High School.

Rachel Robertson, daughter of Andrew and Melissa Robertson, plans to attend Indiana University to study marketing and advertising.

Robert L. Brinson Scholarship
The Robert L. Brinson Scholarship is awarded to Clinton Central High School students who have studied vocational agriculture, been a member of Future Farmers of America and are attending Purdue University.

Jade Crum is the son of John and Tina Crum. He plans to study agri-systems management.

Christian 'Luke' Dunham is the son of Tim Dunham and plans to study electrical computer engineering technology.

Jenny Butler Scholarship
The Jenny Butler Scholarship provides scholarships for Clinton Central High School students who are pursuing a career in nursing, ministry or Christian education.

Kiley Simmons, daughter of Andy and Renee Simmons, will study nursing at Marian University.

Clinton Central High School Team Player Scholarship
The Clinton Central Team Player Scholarship is awarded to a student athlete nominated by his or her coach.

Kaylea Eli, daughter of Tina Wells and stepfather Mike Wells, plans to attend Manchester College to major in elementary education.

Clinton Central High School Vision Scholarship
This fund provides assistance to students graduating from Clinton Central High School.

Hanna Brant, daughter of Jeff Brant and Maria Smith, plans to attend Indiana State University and her course of study is undecided.

Lisa Bray, daughter of Jackie Bray and Terry Bray, plans to attend Indiana University Kokomo to study art.

Kaylea Eli, daughter of Tina Wells and stepfather Mike Wells, plans to attend Manchester College to major in elementary education.

Lindsey Gilhousen, daughter of Dennis and Melissa Gilhousen, plans to attend Ivy Tech Community College to pursue a nursing degree.

Cory Ploughe, son of Michael Ploughe and Kelly Moore, will be attending ITT Tech to study digital entertainment and game design.

Olivia Rudd, daughter of Ronald and Rhonda Rudd, will be attending Butler University to major in exercise science.

Clarence Cochran Agricultural Scholarship
The Clarence Cochran Agricultural Scholarship provides scholarships for Clinton Central or Clinton Prairie High School students who are pursing an education in agriculture or another vocation-related field.

Cory Ploughe, son of Michael Ploughe and Kelly Moore, will be attending ITT Tech to study digital entertainment and game design.

Roy L. Crume Scholarship
The Roy L. Crume Scholarship awards scholarships to high school graduates from Howard, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Grant, Miami and Tipton counties attending a trade or vocational school.

Cory Ploughe, son of Michael Ploughe and Kelly Moore, will be attending ITT Tech to study digital entertainment and game design.

Megan Vester, daughter of Mike and Judy Vester, plans to attend Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis to study hospitality administration with a baking and pastry arts concentration.

Anna Fudge Field and Mary S. Field Endowment Scholarship
The Anna Fudge Field and Mary S. Field Endowment Scholarship is awarded to a Clinton County graduating senior.

Megan Vester, daughter of Mike and Judy Vester, plans to attend Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis to study hospitality administration with a baking and pastry arts concentration.

Louise and Robert A. Hedgcock History Essay Scholarship
This fund provides scholarships to students from Frankfort High School.

Alexandra Redington-Noble, daughter of Gary Noble and Kimberly Redington, will be attending Ball State University to major in social work.

Kyleigh Renick, daughter of Gregory and Carla Renick, will attend Ball State University to study American Sign Language and special education.

Michigantown High School Alumni Association Scholarship
This fund provides scholarships to students residing in Michigan Township or Warren Township in Clinton County.

Jade Crum is the son of John and Tina Crum. He plans to study agri-systems management.

Olivia Droke, daughter of Darrell and Peggy Droke, will be attending Indiana Wesleyan University to major in intercultural studies (missions) and elementary education.

William and Doris Mohr Scholarship
This is the fourth year that the Foundation is awarding scholarships to students graduating from public high schools in Clinton County. This is a four-year renewable scholarship.

Clinton Central High School

Tyler Ottinger is the son of Todd and Ann Ottinger and he plans to attend Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis to study computer science.

Rachel Robertson, daughter of Andrew and Melissa Robertson, plans to attend Indiana University to study marketing and advertising.

Receiving renewal scholarships are: Chad Kingsolver, Aaron Rogers, John Robinson, Carmen Stockberger, Tanner Deisch and Kayla Mosson.

Clinton Prairie High School

Brianne Little is the daughter of Stanley and Tina Little and she will study interior design at Ball State University.

Adam Schrock, son of Kent and Patricia Schrock, will be attending Ball State University to major in actuarial science.

Receiving renewal scholarships are: Christina Bailey, Erin Overman, Eric Myers and Shawn Walker, Sara Huskins and Collin White.

Frankfort High School

Kara Byrd is the daughter of Tony and Grace Byrd and she will be attending Indiana University to study business.

Kyleigh Renick, daughter of Gregory and Carla Renick, will be attending Ball State University to study special education.

Andrew Sharp, son of Bob and Merie Sharp, has chosen to study visual communication at Ball State University.

Chadwick 'Chad' Strong, son of Michael and Lisa Strong, will be attending Purdue University to major in computer graphics technology.

Receiving renewal scholarships are: Bernadette Frey, Zachary Nichols, Josue Ordaz, Katrina Bailey, Nicholas Goldsmith, Abby Lidester, Rachel Redington-Noble, Madison Donoho, Meredith Gant, Brittany Harmon and Haley Jaworski.

Rossville High School

Robert Hawkins, son of Alfred and Laura Hawkins, will attend Purdue University to major in engineering.

Tylyn Tull, daughter of Lorie Tull and the late Craig Tull, will study animal sciences at Purdue University in the fall.

Receiving renewal scholarships are: Alissa Clawson, Kelsey Miller, John Mitchel and Geny Studebaker, Daniel Gascho and Brittany Heffernan.

Mulberry High School Alumni Association Scholarship
This fund provides educational scholarships to students residing in Mulberry or Madison Townships in Clinton County. In July, the scholarship selection committee reviews applications and selects the recipients for the upcoming academic school year. The 2010 recipients are:

Sabrina Huskins will be a senior at Manchester College studying biology/chemistry.

Amanda Krammes graduated this spring from Purdue University with a nursing degree.

PSI IOTA XI Scholarship
This scholarship provides scholarships to graduate students studying speech pathology.

Alyssa Caress is a second-year graduate student at Ball State University studying speech/language pathology.

Greg A. Scofield Scholarship
This fund provides scholarships for Clinton Central High School students who participated in shot put and/or discus during their senior year or who will be studying to become a teacher.

Tyler Ottinger is the son of Todd and Ann Ottinger and he plans to attend Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis to study computer science.

Phyllis M. Widener Music Scholarship
This scholarship is for students graduating from any Clinton County high school who are or will be attending a post-secondary institution, college, university or professional school of music and who are pursuing musical careers.

Andrew Rohrabaugh, son of Angela Rohrabaugh, will be attending Anderson University to study music.

Receiving a renewal scholarship is Abigail Barnett.

J. Allen Wyrick Memorial Scholarship
The J. Allen Wyrick Memorial Scholarship provides tuition assistance to a Clinton Central High School student who is attending Purdue University to study agriculture, engineering or technology.

Jade Crum is the son of John and Tina Crum. He plans to study agri-systems management.

Devin Jaenicke, son of Kara Brown and stepson of Michael Brown, plans to study electrical engineering technology.

Clinton County Community Foundation Scholars

David Adams, son of Bethany Adams and Michael Adams, is a graduate of Frankfort High School. He will be attending Taylor University in the fall, where he will be studying public relations and journalism.

Brianne Little, daughter of Stanley and Tina Little, is a graduate of Clinton Prairie High School. Brianne will study interior design at Ball State University.

Amanda 'Mandy' Loveless, daughter of Kevin and Brenda Loveless, is a graduate of Frankfort High School. She will be attending Purdue University to study nuclear engineering.

Chad Strong, son of Michael and Lisa Strong, is a graduate of Frankfort High School. He will attend Purdue University to study computer graphics technology.

Receiving renewal scholarships are: Tenley Catron, Britny Graves, Madison Donoho, Caroline Moore, Luke McLaughlin, Brooke Robinson and Collin White.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship

Bethany Segraves, daughter of Douglas and Deborah Segraves, is a graduate of Clinton Prairie High School and plans to attend Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis to study Spanish.
