2014 CLINTON COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED
Clinton County Community Foundation awards more than $373,700 in scholarships for 2014-15 school year
June 11, 2014 -- The Clinton County Community Foundation has awarded 81 scholarships and renewals from 18 funds to Clinton County students with an approximate value of $373,700 including the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship. The students were recognized at a Scholarship Reception held on June 5 at Wesley Manor in Frankfort, Ind. Parents, donors, educators, community volunteers and leaders also attended the event in recognition of the efforts of the students.
“Our donors want to have a positive influence on their community by supporting students as they work to achieve their goals,” said John Shoup, chairman of the Clinton County Community Foundation Services Committee. “With this financial support and encouragement, students can concentrate on their ambitions. We are proud to be a part of this process and to assist donors as they share their passion for giving.”
The students and the scholarships they were awarded are listed below:
A. J. Archibald Memorial Scholarship
Wyatt Lucas, son of Matthew and Suzan Lucas, is a Clinton Central High School graduate. He plans to attend Purdue University and study agriculture education.
Bailey Trucking Company Scholarship
Calin Cochran is attending Purdue University and is studying pre-professional health science with a pre-physician assistant concentration.
Robert L. Brinson Scholarship
Baylee Crum, Wyatt Lucas, Tyler McFauls and Rachel Stowers are from Clinton Central High School and will be attending Purdue University.
Baylee is the daughter of Gary and Lisa Crum. She plans to study agri-business at Purdue University.
Wyatt is the son of Matthew and Suzan Lucas and plans to study agriculture education at Purdue University.
Tyler is the son of Darin and Myra McFauls and plans to study agriculture at Purdue University.
Rachel is the daughter of Timothy and Karen Stowers. She will study agricultural economics/agri-business management at Purdue University.
Jenny Butler Scholarship
Tiffany Bray is the daughter of Jared and Jamie Bray and a Clinton Central High School graduate. She will study nursing at Ivy Tech Community College.
Kaitlyn Keeling is the daughter of Katherine McClain and stepdaughter of Andrew Kieth and daughter of Heath Keeling and a Clinton Central High School graduate. She plans to study nursing at Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis.
Clinton Central High School Vision Scholarship
Lane McCoy, son of Jeremy and Holly McCoy, will attend St. Joseph College to study business.
Tyler McFauls is the son of Darin and Myra McFauls. He plans to study agriculture at Purdue University.
Jeffery Scott, son of Maleta Bolinger and stepson of Jamie Bolinger and son of Kent Scott, plans to attend Coastal Carolina University to study sports recreation and management.
Tyler Willis is the son of Curt and Kori Whitcomb. He will study diesel technology at Lincoln College of Technology.
Clarence Cochran Agricultural Scholarship
Tyler McFauls is the son of Darin and Myra McFauls and a Clinton Central High School graduate. He plans to study agriculture at Purdue University.
Vincent and Lois Dowden Scholarship
Sarah Jacoby is the daughter of Shane and Kimberly Jacoby. She will attend Purdue University to study business management.
Anna Fudge Field and Mary S. Field Endowment Scholarship
Nolan Leahy, son of Patrick and Jennifer Leahy, from Rossville High School plans to attend Ball State University and study English education.
Louise and Robert A. Hedgcock History Essay Scholarship
Alex Davis, son of Steve and Lori Davis, is a graduate of Frankfort High School. He plans to attend Purdue University and study history.
Annaka Grismer is the daughter of Andy and Melinda Grismer and is a Frankfort High School student.
Jacob Miller, son of Ray and Teresa Miller, is a graduate of Frankfort High School. He plans to attend Purdue University to study biology.
Michigantown High School Alumni Association Scholarship
Sydney Unger, daughter of Gregory and Christy Unger, is a Clinton Central High School graduate. She plans to attend Defiance College to major in education.
William and Doris Mohr Scholarship
This is a four-year renewable scholarship.
Clinton Central High School
Sarah Jacoby is the daughter of Shane and Kimberly Jacoby. She will attend Purdue University to study business management.
Leilah Miller is the daughter of Doug and Debbie Miller. She will attend Purdue University to study veterinary technology.
Receiving renewal scholarships are: Lindsay Davis, Courtney Fox, Tyler Ottinger, Rachel Robertson, Matthew Rogers and Kendra Stockberger.
ClintonPrairie High School
Lucy Coons is the daughter of John and Deborah Coons. She will study visual communications design at Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis.
Receiving renewal scholarships are: Hannah Coons, Brianne Little, Adam Schrock, Stephanie Schrock and James Woods.
Frankfort High School
Allison Emswiller is the daughter of James and Melinda Emswiller. She will study nursing at Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis.
Erick Figueroa is the son of José Carreno and Maria Figueroa. He will attend Purdue University to study mechanical engineering.
Maricruz Garcia is the daughter of Jaime and Leticia Garcia. She will attend Indiana University Kokomo to study nursing.
Receiving renewal scholarships are: Kara Byrd, Hadley Catron, William Fischer, Michael Harris, Hannah Pierce, Ivan Pozos, Anthony Redington-Noble, Branon Renick, Kyleigh Renick, Andrew Sharp and Chadwick Strong.
Rossville High School
Emma Brown is the daughter of Richard and Lisa Brown. She will study apparel design at Purdue University.
Holly Ware is the daughter of Jackie Ware and Travis Ware. She will study marketing at Indiana University.
Receiving renewal scholarships are: Daniel Gascho, Robert Hawkins, Michaela Heffernan, Bethany McIlrath, Chelsea Sandifur and Kaitlyn Tappenden.
Psi Iota Xi Scholarship — Beta Tau Chapter
Tenely Adams, daughter of Joseph and Jean Catron, is pursuing a post graduate degree in speech pathology at Purdue University.
Wilbur T. Rule Team Player Scholarship
Adam Miller will be attending Ivy Tech Community College and plans to major in surgical technology.
Greg A. Scofield Scholarship
Baylee Crum is the daughter of Gary and Lisa Crum and a graduate of Clinton Central High School. She plans to study agri-business at Purdue University.
Elizabeth Griffy is the daughter of Thomas and Lisa Griffy and a graduate of Clinton Central High School. Elizabeth plans to attend Purdue University.
Barbara K. Siegfried Scholarship
Cole Simmons, son of Andy and Renee Simmons, is a Clinton Central High School graduate. He will attend Purdue University to study mechanical engineering technology.
Phyllis M. Widener Music Scholarship
Isaac Denniston, son of Diane Denniston, will study music education at Anderson University.
Receiving renewals from the fund are Logan Harness and Chloe McLaughlin.
J. Allen Wyrick Memorial Scholarship
Wyatt Lucas, son of Matthew and Suzan Lucas, is a Clinton Central High School graduate. He plans to attend Purdue University and study agriculture education.
Clinton County Community Foundation Scholars
Jennifer Erdman, daughter of Douglas and Susan Erdman, is a graduate of Rossville High School. Jennifer will be attending Manchester College to study pharmacy.
Ryon Herin, son of Dwight and Lydia Herin, is a graduate of Clinton Central High School. Ryon will study psychology at Ball State University.
Dillon Lawrence, son of Robert and Jodell Lawrence, is a graduate of Rossville High School. Dillon will be attending Purdue University, where he will be studying agricultural engineering.
Rachel Stowers, daughter of Timothy and Karen Stowers, is a graduate of Clinton Central High School. Rachel will attend Purdue University to study agricultural economics/agri-business management.
Receiving renewal scholarships are: David Adams, Stephen Good, Logan Harness, Kaitlyn Jameson, Brianne Little, Amanda Loveless, Bethany McIlrath, Chloe McLaughlin, Stephanie Schrock and Chadwick Strong.
Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship
Dalton Bush, son of Tamara Bishop and the late David Bush, is a Frankfort High School graduate. He plans to attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to study software engineering.
