CLINTON COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANTS
Non-profit organizations awarded more than $28,300 during first half of 2014
July 8, 2014 — The Clinton County Community Foundation has awarded more than $28,300 in competitive grants during the first half of 2014.
“Through our competitive grants process, our donors support the diverse services offered by nonprofits in our community,” said John Shoup, chairman of the Clinton County Community Foundation Services Committee. “This combination makes for a strong team that addresses the community’s most pressing current needs and supports development for the future. This year community foundations are celebrating 100 hundred years of philanthropy. Through this recognition, we are also celebrating the vision of our donors and their belief in us to connect people, resources and causes to produce a positive and sustainable change in the community.”
The following agencies and programs were awarded grants:
$8,331 to the Clinton County Family YMCA will be used to replace the current pool lights with new, bright and energy efficient lights.
$4,000 to the Clinton County Foundation for Youth (Camp Cullom) will be used to purchase a commercial floor scrubber to clean the floor at the lodge to ensure a healthier environment for visitors.
$3,872 to Frankfort Baseball provides funding for the purchase of a used lawn mower and materials needed to replace fencing around the playing area.
$2,700 to the Frankfort Swim Club will be used to purchase a Daktronics event starter and above deck cabling system for the touch pads. The cabling connects the starter unit to the touch pads to capture each swimmers time.
$2,924 to the Friends of the Frankfort Library provides support to purchase a digital piano, adjustable piano bench and accessories to be used in the children's and adult music and theatre classes and performances.
$1,500 to the Kirklin Public Library provides funding for the Fizz, Boom, Read! summer reading program that promotes literacy.
$5,000 to the Paul Phillippe Resource Center will be used to purchase new computer hard-drive systems that will be compatible with the dispatching software that is used for the organization's transportation program.
