COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF HOWARD COUNTY WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

January 18, 2012 — The Community Foundation of Howard County has welcomed five new members to its board. Beth MacDonald, Stan Rebber, Steve Rothenberger, John Shoup and Mike Ullery have accepted appointments to the board.

"Our new board members are active in the community and their knowledge and experience will strengthen the Foundation's role in the community," said Ron Harper, president of the Community Foundation of Howard County.

MacDonald is an attorney with the Davis and MacDonald Law Firm and an adjunct professor at IVY Tech Community College. She is also on the board of the Indiana Quarter Horse Association. MacDonald’s background in law and education helped to foster her interest in community involvement.

Rebber is the owner of Granny’s Furniture. He serves on the board of Huddle. He is a past board member of the Kokomo Noon Rotary Club and the Kokomo/Howard County Chamber of Commerce. Rebber became a Foundation board member because of the organization’s role in securing financial support for important aspects of community life.

Rothenberger is a trust investment officer for The Farmers Bank in Clinton County. He serves as a director for The Farmers Bank and is a member of the board of trustees for the Frankfort Community Public Library. Rothenberger is also a member of the Clinton County Community Foundation Services Committee.

Shoup is an attorney with Ryan, Moore and Cook in Clinton County. He is also chairman of the Clinton County Community Foundation Services Committee. Shoup serves on the boards of the Clinton County United Way, the Boys and Girls Club of Clinton County and the Indiana Agricultural Law Foundation.

Ullery is a residential building contractor and the owner of Craftsman Homes and Remodeling LLC. He also sits on the board of the National Association of Home builders, Indiana Builders Association (past state president), Howard County Historical Society (past president), Kokomo Automotive Museum and the Home Builders Association of Howard County, where he is president. He has been a member of the Foundation’s Grantmaking Committee for more than 10 years.

The new board members are replacing outgoing board members Jack Fell, Debbie Graves and Rick Smith.

The Community Foundation of Howard County, Inc. was formed as a not-for-profit public charity in March 1991.
