CLINTON COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANTS
Non-profit organizations awarded more than $92,000 during first half of 2017
Aug. 21, 2017 -- The Clinton County Community Foundation has awarded more than $92,000 in competitive grants during the first half of 2017.
“These grants awarded from our unrestricted community endowment funds have a positive community impact,” said Alan Dunn, chairman of the Clinton County Community Foundation Services Committee. “Each project supported helps to improve the quality of life in our community. Our donors had this in mind when they entrusted us with their contributions. We thank our donors for their foresight and thank the nonprofit organizations for developing services that are accessible and meaningful.”
The following agencies and programs were awarded grants:
Up to $20,000 to the Clinton County Family YMCA provides matching support for the reconstruction of the driveway portion of the parking lot.
$10,748 to the Clinton County Family YMCA will be used to provide training and certification for three of the YMCA's preschool teachers to move the YMCA's Learning Ladder Preschool to a Level 3 on the Paths to Quality, Indiana's statewide rating system for early care and education programs. The preschool would be able to provide 98 seats for students after getting a Level 3 Paths to Quality rating as a result of the state's expanded pre-K pilot program.
$29,000 to the Clinton County Foundation for Youth (Camp Cullom) will be used to replace the roof on the lodge. Camp Cullom hosts numerous community groups with nearly 25,000 visitors each year from Clinton and surrounding counties.
$2,500 to Kirklin Public Library will be used to build and construct a treehouse in the children's department. The project aims to create an inviting, comfortable haven at the library to cultivate a habit of reading and lifelong learning for the preschool children.
$30,025 to the Paul Phillippe Resource Center provides 20 percent matching support for transit vehicles. Grant money awarded through the Indiana Department of Transportation along with the Community Foundation's 20 percent match will allow for the purchase of two medium transportation vehicles and one low-floor minivan that will be used to provide transportation for clients.
