CLINTON COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION RECEIVES $125,000 CONTRIBUTION FROM THE FARMERS BANK

Feb. 25, 2016 -- The Clinton County Community Foundation has received a $125,000 contribution from The Farmers Bank in Frankfort, Ind. The gift was made to the Foundation in honor of Karen Miller, former president of The Farmers Bank and a former board member of the Clinton County Community Foundation.

"This contribution is in recognition of how Karen felt about the community," said Kent Ryan, a director of The Farmers Bank. "She was admired by bank members and everybody strived to follow her example of supporting the community. This is a gift from the bank, board, employees and shareholders. Karen’s interest in the community had a wide depth and breadth and the Foundation’s mission includes the whole community – this was a natural connection. "

The contribution is also eligible for Lilly Endowment’s gift match initiative. The $125,000 will be placed in a community endowment unrestricted fund and qualifies for a $1 for $1 match. The Clinton County Community Foundation’s match goal is $500,000 and the initiative runs through March 31, 2016.

"We are grateful to the bank, its employees and shareholders for this contribution," said Alan Dunn, chairman of the Clinton County Community Foundation’s Services Committee. "Karen’s legacy to the community will be honored as Clinton County charitable projects and services are supported from this fund now and in the future."
